Guthrie Pet Hospital offers a broad range of diagnostic tests to help us identify and target the source of any problems your cat or dog may be experiencing. We also run an in-house laboratory, which allows our team to provide you with results quickly and efficiently.

If concerns arise about the health of your pet, we typically recommend a series of tests, which may include any one of the following:
 

  • Stool analysis
    Identifies the presence of parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms.
  • Urine analysis
    Detects various urinary tract diseases and the presence of bacteria or infection.
  • Blood tests
    Used to diagnose a multitude of conditions including anemia, leukemia, and heartworm disease.

We also recommend more specific testing for puppies and kittens and senior pets. Diagnostic Imaging: Digital X-Rays

When it comes to helping your cat or dog, one of the most important tools at our disposal are digital X-rays. Radiography (X-ray) technology is extremely useful in detecting changes in bone structure, internal shape abnormalities, and the presence of foreign objects. Digital X-rays take this technology to the next level by allowing us to examine and distribute images much more quickly and require less radiation than conventional methods.
